The regional governor of Junín, Zósimo Cárdenas Muje, officially announced that he has canceled his scheduled trip to the United States, planned for July 7 to 13, to remain in his region. Despite having authorization from the Regional Council to participate in an international meeting, the authority decided to prioritize an intense local work agenda focused on regional development. Cárdenas Muje will focus his efforts on resolving the border dispute with Cusco, managing funding from the National Government for the New Central Highway (Nueva Carretera Central), and coordinating strategic investments with the Executive Branch. Additionally, the governor will lead the delivery of key works, such as the Chupuro Wastewater Treatment System and various educational infrastructures in Sapallanga, Pichanaqui, and Perené, ensuring direct supervision of Gore Junín projects.
