Kalonzo condemns police over their conduct during Saba Saba Day 07.07.2026

Wiper Patriotic Front Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly condemned the National Police Service for its conduct during the 36th Saba Saba Day demonstrations. Musyoka accused law enforcement of using excessive force, including guns and batons, against peaceful marchers and implementing roadblocks to curtail constitutional freedoms of movement and assembly. He specifically highlighted the use of masked, plainclothes officers in unmarked vehicles to abduct young Kenyans, a move he described as intimidation rather than policing. Furthermore, Musyoka reported instances where police failed to intervene during assaults on the Linda Mwananchi team in Kisii, Westlands, and Thika Road. He demanded the immediate release of all protesters and promised that his party would implement comprehensive police reforms following the August 10, 2027, General Elections to ensure accountability and end the use of unidentified officers.
