President José Antonio Kast, during his tour of northern Chile, urged the opposition to refocus the debate on the mega-reform, arguing that the discussion should not be between rich and poor, but between those who have jobs and those who do not. He stressed the importance of approving the idea of legislating the mega-reform, warning that maintaining high taxes and hindering investments has resulted in greater unemployment. Additionally, Kast announced two bills in Arica to combat irregular immigration: one to increase the detention and expulsion period for migrants from 5 to 60 days, and another to penalize irregular entry and exit and those who facilitate transfers, seeking to regain sovereignty.
