Kelantan’s Nik Mohamad Abduh begins second Senate term after taking oath of office 02.09.2026

Former Bachok MP Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz took his oath of office as a senator for a second term today before Dewan Negara President Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah at the Senate chamber in Parliament. Nik Mohamad Abduh was re-elected by the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly under Article 45(1)(a) of the Federal Constitution for a three-year term, effective from July 7, 2026, to July 6, 2029. The son of the late Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat had previously served as a senator representing Kelantan for his first term from July 8, 2023, to July 7 this year, and has also served as MP for Pasir Mas and Bachok.
