Travelers at Kenya's main international airport faced significant disruptions on Monday as a go-slow by aviation workers continued into its second day. The action, which began on Sunday at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), caused widespread delays to departures and regional connections. By Monday morning, several airlines were arranging hotel accommodations for affected passengers. The Kenya Aviation Workers’ Union (KAWU) stated the action was over unresolved grievances, including stalled collective bargaining talks with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) and disputes involving the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and Kenya Airways subsidiary Jambojet. Staff from these organizations are demanding improved salaries.
