His nephew confirmed his peaceful passing on Wednesday morning via TVB's social media, stating that Chung died in his sleep at home. The nephew highlighted Chung's lifelong dedication to theatre and the significant legacy he leaves through the students he inspired. The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, also extended her condolences, acknowledging Chung's invaluable contributions to local theatre and his insightful advisory roles to the government.
