Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on Thursday firmly reiterated that Cyprus is neither organizing nor co-organizing the upcoming Gaza Executive Board summit, scheduled for June 30–July 1 in Cyprus. “We are not organising, we are not co-organising, we are not participating in the discussions that will take place,” he stated, noting that the Republic of Cyprus holds only observer status regarding the Board of Peace specifically for Gaza. He clarified that the initiative rests entirely with the organizers, though Cyprus has submitted proposals on humanitarian aid and reconstruction for Gaza. Despite this distance, Kombos acknowledged that bilateral meetings with some board members will likely involve discussion of those proposals.
