Katharina Pichler, an Austrian teenager, faced a life-altering diagnosis of leukemia in September 2015, at the age of 14. Instead of typical teenage activities, she and her mother began planning Katharina's funeral, discussing details like a white coffin and casual attire for friends. This grim planning was a consequence of an initial unsuccessful chemotherapy treatment. Fortunately, after five months, a suitable stem cell donor was found from Germany, a rare match with a one percent probability. Katharina underwent the transplantation, facing the stark possibility of not surviving. Ten years later, she celebrates her "second birthday," having overcome the disease, though she remains unknown to her donor.
