The first notification of the new bill increasing benefits for people with disabilities is a "particularly important development," the confederation of organisations for the disabled (Kysoa) said on Friday. "After more than 20 arduous years of painful stagnation, disability benefits are increasing," Kysoa stated, noting that the last readjustment occurred in 2019 at a cost of €4 million and covered only a limited number of benefits. The cabinet approved the new bill on Thursday, with Deputy Welfare Minister Clea Papaellina announcing it on Friday.
