La France et l'Espagne se tirent la bourre : qui est vraiment le pays le plus visité au monde ? 23.02.2026

France maintained its position as the world's leading tourist destination in 2025, welcoming 102 million foreign visitors and generating a record 77.5 billion euros in international tourism revenue, a 9% increase from 2024. Despite this success, Spain, with 97 million visitors in the same year, is challenging France's dominance, particularly in terms of tourist spending, with international receipts reaching 135 billion euros. French officials acknowledge that while France attracts a high volume of visitors, many are transient, unlike Spain, which is perceived as a more established destination where tourists tend to stay longer, averaging seven days compared to France's five. To further solidify its leadership and increase revenue to 100 billion euros by 2030, France aims to enhance its tourism offerings and diversify its sectors.
