La France reste « le pays le plus visité du monde » mais se fait talonner par un voisin européen 19.02.2026

France maintained its position as the world's most visited country in 2025, welcoming 102 million international visitors, a slight increase from 100 million in 2024. Despite this, Spain is emerging as a strong contender, attracting 97 million foreign visitors in 2025 and surpassing France in tourism revenue with 135 billion euros, though French authorities dispute this figure, placing France's revenue at 105 billion euros from foreign clients. Italy followed closely with over 90 million visitors. While French tourism revenue reached a record 77.5 billion euros in 2025, driven by European travelers and a significant increase in American tourists, Asian tourism, particularly from China, has not yet recovered to pre-pandemic levels. Concerns about overtourism are also rising in these top destinations.
