A serious traffic accident occurred in the Ex Enafer Huaymanta sector, specifically at kilometer 172 of the Carretera Central, in front of the I.E. José Carlos Mariátegui. A trailer with license plate B3S 242–ASR975, driven by Edson Uber Vicharra Yupanqui, violently collided with vehicle BWS-369 belonging to National Police officer Antony Julio Coronel Limaymanta. The officer, who works at the La Oroya Police Station, was traveling toward Lima to accompany his father to medical treatment when the accident occurred. The trailer driver, who was transporting mineral concentrate from Lima to Huancayo, was detained for investigation, as it is suspected that he performed an erratic maneuver under the influence of alcohol. The accident blocked the road for hours, affecting vehicular traffic in the area until cleanup was completed.
