« La pédagogie, un enjeu important » : Comment le commerce équitable s’impose doucement (mais sûrement) dans nos assiettes 23.02.2026

The fair trade sector in France is experiencing significant growth, with its turnover reaching over 2.6 billion euros in 2024, a 25% increase. This expansion is attributed to a diversifying and modernizing product offering, aimed at attracting younger consumers, and increased consumer awareness of social and environmental justice. Organizations like Solidar'Monde are actively working to educate consumers, particularly schoolchildren, about the principles and certifications of fair trade, emphasizing fair producer remuneration and development premiums. Despite this progress, fair trade's market share remains modest compared to organic products, highlighting the ongoing need for education and wider distribution in conventional retail and collective catering, where regulations like the EGalim law mandate a minimum of 20% bio and/or fair trade products.
