The fire that broke out Saturday afternoon in Ivan Dolac on the island of Hvar has burned approximately 200 hectares of grass, low vegetation, and pine forest. Firefighters have announced that the current situation at the fire site is satisfactory, despite the strong bura wind which is complicating firefighting efforts. Four Canadair aircraft are active on the ground, along with 60 firefighters from the Hvar, Stari Grad, and Jelsa units, and 15 vehicles. During the night, additional land-based assistance will be provided by 15 firefighters and two vehicles from the Imotski and Sinj areas. Although firefighters are on alert due to the wind, active firefighting operations are planned to continue throughout the night. Local media report that the fire threatened several vineyards and approached residential buildings, while additional aerial assistance via Canadair aircraft is expected tomorrow.
