Le corps d’un alpiniste retrouvé sous une avalanche en Suisse 22.02.2026

A 25-year-old Italian alpinist, reported missing on Wednesday, was discovered deceased under an avalanche in the eastern Swiss Alps on Sunday afternoon. The young man, from the Naples region, had departed from Saint-Moritz, where he was employed, for a snow hike on his day off. His last communication was a message stating, "I'm trying not to die." The body was found in the Val d’Arlas, and local police in the Grisons canton, in conjunction with the public prosecutor's office, have initiated an investigation into the precise circumstances of the incident. Avalanche risks have been significant in Switzerland recently, with a level four alert in effect for most of the Grisons canton.
