Le maire de New York ordonne une interdiction des déplacements à l’approche d’une violente tempête de neige 22.02.2026

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has declared a temporary travel ban for non-essential trips, effective from Sunday, February 22nd at 9 PM until Monday at noon, in anticipation of a severe snowstorm. The city is expected to receive between 45 and 60 centimeters of snow, with some areas potentially seeing over 70 centimeters, accompanied by strong winds. This measure, part of a declared state of emergency, will lead to the closure of all city streets, highways, and bridges to vehicular traffic, including cars, trucks, scooters, and electric bikes, though essential and urgent travel will be permitted. This storm is described as the most significant in a decade for the metropolis, and other East Coast cities like Boston are also preparing for extreme weather conditions.
