Le ministre de la Fonction publique David Amiel nommé aux Comptes publics à la place de Montchalin 22.02.2026

In a minor government reshuffling announced by the Elysée, David Amiel, previously the Minister Delegate for Public Service, has been appointed to the Ministry of Public Accounts, replacing Amélie de Montchalin. Montchalin is transitioning to lead the Cour des comptes starting Monday. Amiel, a 33-year-old Paris deputy and a long-time associate of Emmanuel Macron, represents the "Macron generation" that emerged in 2017. This change precedes a broader, though limited, government reshuffle expected mid-week, contingent on the timing of a potential no-confidence motion from the Rassemblement National regarding the country's energy roadmap. Other ministerial departures are anticipated, including Rachida Dati, the Minister of Culture and a candidate for Paris mayor, and Charlotte Parmentier-Lecocq, Minister for Autonomy and Disabled Persons.
