The French government has announced that a partial reimbursement for reusable menstrual products will be implemented starting with the university academic year. This measure, passed in December 2023 as part of the 2024 Social Security budget, will cover 60% of the cost for individuals under 26 and those receiving the solidarity complementary health insurance (C2S), regardless of age. This initiative, aiming to benefit 6.7 million people, fulfills a previous commitment made in May 2025. The reimbursement was initially delayed but is now set to become effective soon, making these products more accessible to younger and more vulnerable populations.
