On Saturday, February 21st, in Lyon's Jean-Jaurès square, a march honoring nationalist militant Quentin Deranque, who died on February 14th, drew approximately 3,200 participants, including numerous far-right figures. While the event remained peaceful, many attendees openly expressed racist and extremist views in memory of Deranque, who was beaten to death on February 12th during a confrontation between far-right activists and antifascist groups. Seven young men have been indicted for voluntary homicide or complicity, including a parliamentary assistant and a former collaborator of LFI deputy and Jeune Garde co-founder Raphaël Arnault.
