Ligue Europa : Battus par Belgrade et conspués par leurs supporters, les Lillois ressentent de « la honte » 20.02.2026

Lille OSC suffered a humiliating 1-0 defeat at home against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday evening, marking their seventh loss in ten matches in 2026. The team's lack of effort and creativity at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy led to their supporters booing and throwing projectiles at the players as they approached the ultras' tribune. Coach Bruno Genesio expressed profound shame, stating the performance was unacceptable and not worthy of a professional team. Following the match, the main ultras group, Dogues Virage Est, chanted for Genesio's resignation, which the coach accepted. Despite the team's poor form, they remain fifth in Ligue 1, with their only other win this year being against Freiburg in the Europa League. Lille faces a difficult return leg in Belgrade next week.
