Lloyd Burr named Stuff website’s head of news 04.07.2026

Stuff has appointed prominent journalist Lloyd Burr to the newly created position of Head of News for its website, commencing July 13. Burr, previously the explainer editor known for long-form reporting and political expertise, will initially serve a three-month secondment. Reporting to editor-in-chief Keith Lynch, he will be responsible for driving the daily news agenda, leading editorial teams, and producing high-impact journalism. This leadership role represents a significant shift from Burr's previous work, which included an investigation into government spending on overseas tech companies. His appointment follows other recent high-profile changes at Stuff, including Matthew Hooton's new role as editor-in-chief of The Post and Sunday Star-Times. Questions remain regarding Burr's continued reporting duties and the future of his popular web series, BYO.
