Läänemets: SDE-ga pole Kaljulaidi kandidatuuri teemal räägitud"Üks onu heinodest oli Reformierakonna linnapeakandidaat" 07.05.2026

Sotsiaaldemokraatliku Erakonna (SDE) esimees Lauri Läänemets kinnitas ERR-ile, et Reformierakonnaga ei ole Kersti Kaljulaidi võimalikust kandideerimisest Eesti presidendiks vesteldud. Läänemets meenutas, et just Reformierakond ei toetanud Kaljulaidi teist ametiaega ja eelistas Alar Karist, ning väljendas kahtlust, kas Kaljulaidi nime meediavälja käimine on tõsine samm või pelgalt tähelepanu püüdmine enne riigikogu valimisi. Ta rõhutas, et kui Reformierakond soovib tõsiselt Kaljulaidi presidendikandidaadina kaaluda, peaks tegema ametliku ettepaneku, mida pole tehtud. SDE on varem Kaljulaidi presidendivalimistel toetanud ja on valmis arutama erinevaid kandidaate, kuid ootab Reformierakonnalt selgitusi oma plaanide kohta. Eerik-Niiles Kross pakkus Kaljulaidi kandidatuuri välja pärast tema EOK presidendi kohalt tagandamist, samas kui Kristen Michal avaldas talle toetust sarnases kontekstis.
