Christian Poirier, president of the Departmental Union of Federated Associations for Voluntary Blood Donation in Maine-et-Loire (UD 49), highlighted the need to promote plasma donations alongside blood donations, as blood donation forecasts are down this year in the region. The UD 49, which federates 44 associations in Maine-et-Loire under the French Federation for Voluntary Blood Donation (FFDSB), serves to disseminate information from the French Blood Establishment (EFS). Poirier made these remarks at the general assembly of the La Meignanne Voluntary Blood Donation association, emphasizing the ongoing efforts of these organizations despite declining donation predictions.
