Louis Vuitton sues S'pore man for trademark infringement, awarded S$510,000 in damages 07.05.2026

Louis Vuitton has successfully sued a Singaporean man, Ng Hoe Seng, for trademark infringement, resulting in a S$510,000 damages award. Ng operated online stores under Instagram handles "emcase_sg" and "emcrafts_sg," selling counterfeit luxury goods. Louis Vuitton made trap purchases in 2022 and 2023, identifying 121 instances of infringement. Initially awarded S$200,000 in 2023, Louis Vuitton appealed, arguing the damages were insufficient. Ng did not contest the proceedings and was noted for his evasive and uncooperative conduct, including continuing to advertise the goods after being notified by Louis Vuitton. The court recalculated damages, categorizing the goods based on sales volume, price disparity, and product type.
