Pride Amsterdam is expanding its duration to a full month, a change that began in 2025 with organizers able to apply for project subsidies throughout the month. This initiative aims to make the event more diverse, substantive, and spread across the city, moving beyond the traditional Pride weekend and Canal Parade. An evaluation by the municipality revealed that this extended period allowed for more varied perspectives and voices within the community, particularly benefiting smaller initiatives for marginalized groups. While events now occur in all city districts, some areas like Noord, Nieuw-West, and Zuidoost remain underrepresented. The municipality has committed to continuing the Pride month format from 2027 onwards, with €350,000 allocated for Pride month activities last year, in addition to €350,000 for Stichting Pride.
