Emmanuel Macron veut convaincre Donald Trump de réguler l’IA et protéger les mineurs sur les réseaux sociauxà 14h59 19.02.2026

French President Emmanuel Macron intends to engage with former US President Donald Trump to advocate for stricter regulations on artificial intelligence and enhanced protection for minors on social media platforms. Macron, speaking at a global AI summit in New Delhi on Thursday, expressed his desire to persuade Trump, a proponent of unfettered social media access, of the urgent need to shield young people from harmful online content. This initiative follows similar legislative actions in Australia and France, which have implemented age restrictions for social media accounts, and India's consideration of comparable measures. In contrast, the US government has resisted such regulations, citing freedom of expression. Macron emphasized the parental concerns regarding the pressures faced by children and adolescents online, believing that public opinion in the US could influence Trump's stance. He also called for a "healthier" and "safer" AI, advocating for age verification technologies and clear labeling of AI-generated content.
