Madibeng municipal manager refuses to step aside after suspension 07.09.2026

Madibeng municipal manager Quiet Kgatla has refused to step aside following his precautionary suspension, asserting that he remains in office and will continue exercising his responsibilities. The suspension was served on Friday by provincial executive representative (PER) Katlego Gabanakgosi, who stated it took immediate effect. According to the suspension notice, Kgatla failed to make representations after being given seven days to explain why he should not be suspended, with the deadline lapsing on September 1. Gabanakgosi indicated he had formed a prima facie view that there was enough evidence to believe Kgatla may have committed serious misconduct, warranting an independent investigation.
