Madlanga Commission | Top cops Khan and Kadwa accused of interfering in Aeroton’s R300 million drug bust 08.06.2026

At the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, Lieutenant Colonel Nkoana Joseph Sebola of the Hawks testified that Major Generals Feroz Khan and Ebrahim Kadwa allegedly interfered with the investigation into a significant R300 million cocaine bust in Aeroton, Gauteng, in July 2021. Sebola presented evidence, including text messages, suggesting that the consignment was facilitated by a network involving individuals from Transnet, SARS Customs, SAPS, freight companies, and businesspeople. Initially, four suspects, including police officers and a businessman, were arrested, but charges were later dropped. Sebola expressed concern over the unusual level of involvement by these senior officers, stating their actions raised questions about their true intentions, with some generals’ involvement appearing to frustrate investigations rather than assist them, and recounted instances where confiscated US dollars were allegedly returned to an owner under instruction from these Generals.
