MAHB: KLIA2 traffic improves, 99pct driver compliance recorded 03.06.2026

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has reported a significant improvement in traffic flow at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 following the implementation of the Vehicle Access Management System (VAMS) on March 31, 2026. In April and May 2026, the system managed 1.12 million vehicles, with an impressive 99% compliance rate within the ten-minute grace period for passenger pick-ups and drop-offs. Drivers averaged just over three minutes of dwell time, indicating smoother operations. This success at Terminal 2 mirrors the positive outcomes at Terminal 1, which introduced VAMS in December 2025. Combined, the system has regulated over 7.3 million vehicles, contributing to MAHB's goal of enhancing the passenger experience through smarter airport operations.
