A fatal shooting by ICE agents in Biddeford, Maine, on Monday has sparked controversy after Sen. Angus King’s office revealed that the victim was not the intended target of the arrest warrant. King initially told reporters that Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin had informed him the man was the target of an immigration enforcement operation and had been ordered to leave the country. However, King later clarified that Mullin called back to correct the information, stating the victim was not the target. King expressed respect for Mullin’s correction but emphasized the need for a transparent investigation.
