A lawsuit has been filed following the fatal MRI incident involving a 32-year-old man, Rajesh Maru, at Nair Hospital in Mumbai on January 27, 2018. Maru was allegedly pulled into the MRI machine and killed by a metal oxygen cylinder he was carrying due to the strong magnetic field. The lawsuit, filed by Maru's wife, alleges negligence on the part of the hospital staff who, according to her, failed to ensure the MRI room was free of metallic objects and did not properly instruct Maru about the safety precautions before the scan. The family is seeking ₹1 crore in compensation for the tragic loss.
