The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m., with the man positioned between the second and third floors before being apprehended by police on the third floor. The action led to the immediate evacuation of the forecourt and two floors of the monument due to safety risks. Although the identity and exact motives of the perpetrator remain unknown, he is currently suspected of endangering lives. The incident took place on July 4, American Independence Day, a date that is being celebrated extra specially this year due to the 250th anniversary of the United States.
