Motorcycle & car accident beside new BKE speed cam: Man, 51, taken to hospital, man, 41, assisting with investigations 05.07.2026

On the evening of July 4, 2026, a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a car occurred on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) heading towards the Woodlands Checkpoint. The incident was reported at approximately 6:00 pm, near the 9km mark where a newly-installed orange mobile speed camera is located. A 51-year-old man was involved in the collision and was conveyed conscious to Woodlands Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Witnesses, including several motorcyclists, stopped to assist the victim and redirect traffic at the scene. Currently, a 41-year-old male car driver is assisting the police with ongoing investigations. This specific stretch of the BKE is recognized as an accident-prone area, and the mobile speed camera at this location has been operational since July 1 following a testing period.
