On September 6, 2024, during a fight at Leidseplein, he struck a victim in the neck with glass shards from a broken bottle. The court determined that his actions demonstrated an acceptance of the significant risk of causing death. Despite the defendant's claim of self-defense, the court found no evidence, concluding he initiated the confrontation while the victim attempted de-escalation.
