Wildfires are actively burning across southern Georgia and northeast Florida, driven by extreme drought conditions, prompting significant preventative measures. Georgia has issued its first-ever mandatory outdoor burn ban, affecting regions south of Atlanta, including Harris County to Columbia County, and covering over 159 counties with existing burn bans in place.
