Marche pour Quentin Deranque à Lyon : pour « éviter tout débordement », un dispositif policier renforcé à un « haut niveau » 20.02.2026

A reinforced police presence, including multiple CRS companies, mobile gendarmerie squadrons, and national police officers from various regional departments, will be deployed in Lyon on Saturday afternoon for a march honoring Quentin Deranque, a nationalist activist who was beaten to death. The demonstration, authorized by the Rhône prefecture, is scheduled to begin at 3 PM from Place Jean Jaurès and is expected to draw between 2,000 and 3,000 participants. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed the significant security measures, emphasizing his role in upholding public order and freedom of expression, and stated that the march would not be prohibited as long as potential public order disturbances could be contained. The primary objectives of the extensive police operation are to prevent any disturbances, ensure the safety of individuals and property, and protect sensitive locations.
