He has been utilizing the company's FLUX generative AI model to create storyboards for an upcoming film, describing the experience as "creatively freeing" and a natural evolution of cinema. Scorsese highlighted how AI can expedite the visualization and communication process during pre-production, saving time and resources without compromising quality. This move aligns with his history of adopting new filmmaking technologies, such as 3D and de-aging, and places him among other prominent directors like James Cameron and Peter Jackson who are exploring AI, though some, like Steven Spielberg and Guillermo del Toro, remain more cautious.
