In an interview with the TN channel, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, launched harsh criticisms against the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof. Menem stated that Kicillof "should be disqualified from holding public office" and described him as "the worst Minister of Economy in history," holding him responsible for the implementation of the currency controls (cepo cambiario) during the second government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. These statements come ahead of the 2027 electoral year, where Kicillof is expected to be the Peronist presidential candidate.
