The altercation reportedly began with racist remarks made by an intoxicated passenger towards other travelers and escalated into a physical fight involving multiple individuals, causing panic and fear among passengers. Jet2 confirmed that the flight was diverted due to the "unbearable behavior" of two disruptive passengers, who were subsequently met by police upon landing. The airline has banned both individuals for life from flying with them and they may be liable for the diversion costs. The flight eventually continued to Manchester around 10 PM.
