The Mayor of Vouzela, Carlos Oliveira, described the night as "very complicated," with strong winds spreading multiple fire outbreaks across the territory. The fire, which began early Thursday morning in Tourelhe, in the parish of Cambra, now has five active fronts, with the two most concerning being in Campia (Oliveira de Frades) and Águeda (Aveiro), the latter described as "very extensive and with great force." Another front in Alcofra, in the Caramulo mountains, has reportedly already entered the municipality of Tondela.
