A mechanic in Kuching, Sarawak, who crashed through a police roadblock on Jalan Padungan last Saturday (June 20) and struck a police officer on duty, will face additional charges related to driving under the influence of alcohol. Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah stated that the investigation into the drink-driving offence is still ongoing, and police will file charges under the Road Transport Act as soon as the chemistry report is obtained. The incident occurred when the mechanic allegedly rammed the roadblock, hitting the officer stationed there. The officer sustained injuries and received medical treatment. The mechanic was initially detained and now faces escalated legal action for his actions.
