Mehrheit hält laut Umfrage Kinder in Deutschland für kaum noch bezahlbar 22.02.2026

A recent Insa-Blitz survey conducted for "Bild am Sonntag" reveals that 55 percent of Germans believe raising children is financially unfeasible in the country. This sentiment is particularly strong among those aged 30 to 49, with over 60 percent in this demographic sharing the view. The primary reasons cited for this financial strain include high living costs such as rent, food, and energy (81 percent), followed by taxes and contributions (59 percent). Additionally, 48 percent of respondents feel that state support for families is insufficient, and 58 percent lament the lack of affordable childcare and daycare spots. Income losses due to parental leave or part-time work were also identified as a significant factor by 40 percent.
