At the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, 19-year-old Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli secured pole position for Saturday's race, starting alongside Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. Antonelli further strengthened his Formula One championship lead after winning the earlier sprint race, extending his advantage over teammate George Russell to 43 points. The qualifying session saw Antonelli finish 0.175 seconds ahead of Leclerc, while Lewis Hamilton secured third place and George Russell fourth. Despite the competitive field, Antonelli managed to navigate unpredictable, gusty wind conditions to claim his second P1 of the day. While Leclerc expressed satisfaction with his second-place start after recent struggles, Hamilton noted a lack of pace compared to the Mercedes drivers. The grid also features Isack Hadjar in fifth, followed by Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and Oscar Piastri, setting the stage for a highly anticipated race.
