Met knoeperhard werken willen nieuwe bewindslieden de scepsis logenstraffen 23.02.2026

The new cabinet, led by Prime Minister Rob Jetten, has been sworn in at Huis ten Bosch, with ministers and state secretaries receiving a formal welcome at their respective ministries. This marks the first post-war minority cabinet to assume office without guaranteed parliamentary support, facing the challenge of potentially shorter tenures than their predecessors, who served for approximately eighteen months. Finance Minister Eelco Heinen believes success is achievable through partial agreements with the opposition, despite former minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem's suggestion of a comprehensive accord. A key focus for the cabinet is the nitrogen issue, with the newly appointed Minister of Agriculture, Jaimi van Essen, tasked with resolving it to facilitate housing construction.
