Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has conceded that his force mishandled a complaint against journalist Jack Grove, who was investigating plagiarism allegations against University of Cambridge professor Jason Arday. The Met spent four months probing a harassment complaint made by Arday against Grove, ultimately closing the case but instructing the reporter not to contact the academic again. Sir Mark told LBC that the complaint "should have been screened out earlier on as not requiring investigation" and that the force "dropped the ball."
