Meta has pulled a controversial feature from its new Muse Image AI model that let anyone create AI-generated images based on public Instagram accounts by simply @-mentioning them in prompts. The feature, launched earlier this week as part of Meta Superintelligence Labs' first image generation model, automatically opted in all public Instagram profiles for use as references. Users could only prevent their photos from being used by either manually opting out or making their profiles private.
