Violences au Mexique : la France appelle ses ressortissants à « la plus grande prudence » dans plusieurs zonesà 08h08 23.02.2026

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised its citizens in Mexico to exercise extreme caution and remain confined due to ongoing armed confrontations, roadblocks, and vehicle fires, particularly in the state of Jalisco, including Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and Tapalpa. This advisory, issued on Sunday, follows the death of a major cartel leader, Nemesio "El Mencho" Oseguera, head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNV), by the Mexican army. Similar warnings have been issued by the United States, urging its citizens to shelter in place in various regions, including tourist hubs like Cancún and Oaxaca, and states such as Baja California. Several French, American, and Canadian companies have canceled flights to affected cities like Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara.
