BREAKING: Police Arrest Late MFM Pastor's Widow Yewande Roberts Amid N550Million Alleged Defamation Row With Olukoya 07.07.2026

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Yewande Roberts, the widow of late MFM pastor Tope Roberts, in Ikeja, Lagos. Roberts was apprehended on Thursday evening based on a petition, with authorities labeling her a "flight risk." This arrest occurs amidst a high-stakes legal dispute with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya. Olukoya’s legal team is seeking N550 million in damages following Roberts' social media allegations of sexual harassment, psychological abuse, and the unlawful withholding of her late husband's intellectual property. While Roberts' lawyers, De-Vine Chambers, stated she was prepared to receive court processes, no formal service was reported prior to her arrest. The police have not yet disclosed the specific nature of the petition or whether it directly relates to the ongoing defamation row involving the prominent cleric.
