Microsoft testing wearable AI gadget aimed at office workers 02.06.2026

Microsoft is actively developing new wearable AI technology, showcasing two conceptual devices at its annual developer conference. One is a compact, voice and touch-activated desktop cube, while the other is a wearable access badge designed for quick AI interaction. These concepts, part of "Project Solara," aim to provide AI-driven assistance for office workers, allowing interaction with AI agents outside of traditional computers. Satya Nadella highlighted these as a "new form factor" for technology. Currently in pilot with several hundred Microsoft employees, these devices are intended to inform future product development, building on lessons from previous ventures like the Hololens. The badge features a camera for environmental interaction, mirroring trends seen in other AI wearables and raising privacy considerations.
