Mike Boynton Jr. has signed a two-year, $7.6 million contract to be Michigan's men's basketball coach, but his second year is not guaranteed. According to The Detroit News, Boynton must meet several academic and performance-based benchmarks in his first season to earn the second year of the deal. He was initially named interim coach after Dusty May left for the Dallas Mavericks, and has since retained most of the roster, losing only junior guard L.J. Cason to the transfer portal.
